FSMC 001 - Public Safety Leadership

As the Fire Service evolves and becomes an increasingly diverse and dynamic industry, the need for competent leadership also grows. The program will explore modern leadership theory and the core values of honesty, integrity, professionalism, respect, teamwork and building excellence.
*The session will begin with the discussion and assessment of on-line Leadership Self-Assessments completed by students prior to the program.  
This course is part of the Humber College Fire Service Executive Management Certificate program, and counts as one (1) of the twelve (12) compulsory courses required towards the certificate.
The total cost of this course is $605 + HST which includes the fee for students to complete the on-line Leadership Self-Assessment. This self assessment is mandatory and must be completed by students prior to the program.

Gabriella graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science degree with distinction in Industrial Relations and Psychology and holds several industry accreditations. Course Description   
This course is an organizational overview of the 3-levels of government in Canada. There will be a thorough exploration of current issues facing Municipalities and the relationship with the respective provinces.  Students will take a particularly close look at the challenges faced by Public Safety Professionals, related to political structure and the unique make up of all municipalities within the province. Participants will leave with a better overall understanding of the complexities of governmental system and how they fit within it.
