How to vote

Members are encouraged to view the online nominations, which will be posted on this page.  On Tuesday September 1, 2020, at 8:30am EST, the 2020 Elections Ballot will go live online.  A link will be available on this page, and an email communication will be sent announcing that online voting is open.

When the election link goes live, you will be required to input your full name, title, department, email address as well as the full name, department and email address of the seconder.  You can vote for one member in each district, as well as four (4) at-large members (they can be in any region).  Please note that you can just vote for one person on a nomination form.  If you submit another nomination, you cannot vote again for that section, your ballot must be for one of the regions you did not complete on the prior ballot. Failure to comply will result in a VOID ballot.

The list of candidates will be provided by district, and in alphabetical order (by last name). You must vote for at least ONE (1) member in each district, and no more than four (4) for the at-large positions. Marking more than allowed will VOID your ballot. Members are encouraged to double-check your ballot before you hit the “submit” button. You will have the option to decline your vote.

The Emergency North Training Elections Ballot will close at 4:30pm EST on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.  The Chief Returning Officer will compile, count and validate the ballots and provide the results during the virtual Annual General Meeting on Thursday, September 10, 2020. About Emergency North Training

Emergency North Training (ENT) Inc. is a not-for-profit, incorporated entity with the objective of delivering educational programs and services for members of the public and persons who respond to emergencies in northwestern Ontario. For the past 30 years, ENT, staffed with volunteers, has offered critical regional training for firefighters and emergency first responders for municipalities, unincorporated territories, and First Nations.  The main training forum, held each September, is known as FireCon.

ENT recognizes that municipal budgets in northwestern Ontario are under significant pressure to reduce costs and spending. With that said, the training offered at FireCon, on a per-student basis, is the best opportunity for first responders to receive affordable training to a recognized standard. Training delivered at FireCon is up to standards acceptable to Ontario's Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management (OFMEM), and Ministry of Labour.

Without the collaboration and partnership with the OFMEM, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs, and our corporate sponsors, Emergency North Training and FireCon would not be possible.

Our training packages include lunch, continental breakfast, refreshments, and access to our Trade Show - where attendees have the opportunity to see the latest technology and products available today in the fire service. On Saturday evening, attendees gather at our annual banquet, which provides an opportunity to network with peers, have a delicious meal and enjoy some light entertainment.

Emergency North Training considers it a privilege to be a service to our membership and the Ontario fire service.  We pride ourselves in delivering training that is affordable, accessible, and attainable. FireCon offers a great place to network, exchange ideas, and knowledge, meet new people and hear news from afar.

It is the rendezvous for the fire and emergency service in northwestern Ontario!
