Township names new fire chief

The Township of Puslinch has a new fire chief.

Steven Goode, a man with over 20 years of firefighting experience, moved from the role of deputy fire chief for the township into the position of chief as of March 1.

“Steven is not only an asset to the Puslinch Fire & Rescue Service team, but also to the Puslinch community,” chief administrative officer and clerk Karen Landry said in a news release.

Goode began his firefighting career in 1994, and he is respected for his operational management skills and dedication to fire and emergency services in the community, the release said.

“We look forward to working with Chief Goode in his new role. His experience will be a real asset for our community,” Mayor Dennis Lever said in the release. “Steven’s extensive background and skills will serve the township well as we embark on the development of a Fire Master Plan.”

Goode succeeds retiring chief Robert Gordon.
