One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries following an early Monday fire at an apartment in the city’s east end.

The fire broke out at about 4 a.m. at an apartment in a complex at 1455 Trafalgar St., east of Highbury Avenue.

The blaze, quickly brought under control, also forced the evacuation of several units in the building, said Jack Burt, London’s deputy fire chief.

“Several people were displaced, but they are being allowed back into their units,” he said, adding the cause and extent of the damage caused by the fire are now under investigation.

“We are working closely with London police and we have notified the Ontario Fire Marshal, and we’ll be working conjunctively,” Burt said.
