North Grenville Fire Service asking residents to avoid ATVing on Rideau River

With snow starting to fall as winter approaches, the North Grenville Fire Service is reminding residents to be safe on the ice.

The fire department says the main concern is people driving their ATVs on the Rideau River, where they say the ice is dangerously thin.

Four separate incidents involving people operating ATVs on the river have already happened, and the department is urging you to avoid the river until the ice becomes thick enough to be safe.
