Cornwall city council approved a bylaw during its Monday meeting to officially swear in Leighton Woods as deputy fire chief. Woods was also appointed as alternate community emergency coordinator for the city.
A short report to council noted that as Woods’ knowledge and skills increase, he would become the main community emergency co-ordinator for the city.
