Arson charge in Kitchener business fire

KITCHENER — A 29-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection to a fire at a business.

On Tuesday at about 6 a.m., emergency services arrive in the area of Charles Street and Water Street South for reports of a fire.

Police said a man was been charged with arson, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a Schedule I Substance, possession of an identity document belonging to another person, breach prohibition and possession of a weapon contrary to order.

The man was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Police said suspected fentanyl, a prohibited weapon and suspected stolen identity documents were seized.
