2017 First Alert, BRK, OAFC Partnership Awards
Nomination and Entry Information

 
First Alert and BRK present the 2017 Partnership Awards, designed to recognize the partnership between the OAFC, First Alert, BRK, and member fire departments.

The program rewards fire departments who demonstrate excellence and innovation in sharing our Fire Safety message with their respective communities.
 
Award Categories include:
  • Highest Volume
  • Retailer Support
  • Zero Waste Leadership
  • Fire Prevention Leadership
How to Nominate:
Nominating your Fire Department for an award is easy, simply:

1. Select the category for which you wish to be nominated
2. Download and complete the entry form
3. e-mail completed entry form to klam@firstalert.com
 
You can nominate your Fire Department for any number of awards, however only one submission per award will be entered.

 
AWARD CATEGORIES
 
Highest Volume Fire Department
  • Awarded to the Fire Department who shows leadership in distributing First Alert smoke and/or carbon monoxide alarms to their local community through fire prevention and community outreach initiatives.
  • There is no entry form needed for this award category, judging is based on the highest dollar value of First Alert purchases through the Preferred Member OAFC Order Form between January 1, 2017 and September 30 2017.
Retailer Support Award  - Click to Download Entry Form
  • Awarded to a Fire Department who has participated community events with First Alert retailers
  • Fire Department personnel have shown leadership / ownership in creating conversations with store customers or event attendees, sharing fire safety messaging and increasing category / safety knowledge
  • Fire Department has incorporated best-practices, or innovative educational elements into events
  • Fire Department has demonstrated a proactive approach to the planning of events, ensuring their success
Zero Waste Leadership  - Click to Download Entry Form
  • Awarded to the Fire Department that shows leadership in creating sustainability initiatives which are long-term, and benefit the community both in the present and future
  • Initiatives should be scalable, allowing best practices to be rolled out regionally or provincially as well as locally
  • Initiatives should be inclusive, showing concern for social equity, well-being and diversity
  • Impact of sustainability initiatives should be measurable
  • Efforts are shown to communicate sustainability initiatives to the community the nominee serves
Fire Prevention Leadership  - Click to Download Entry Form
  • Awarded to the Fire Department whose fire prevention initiatives show innovation and originality
  • Activities should meet (or create) a community need or concern
  • Initiatives must show real impact in raising community awareness and education
  • Success of initiatives should be measurable
  • Initiatives should be scalable, allowing best practices to be rolled out regionally or provincially as well as locally
Your Fire Department could win:
  • A $250.00 credit with First Alert/BRK to be used when purchasing Fire Safety products throughout 2017
  • A commemorative plaque showing the year and category for which the award was won
  • Award recognition at the OAFC Conference in November, on the OAFC website, and on the First Alert website
*Nominations close September 31st 2017. Finalists will be announced November 2017*
