Air Management Seminar - Waterloo Region Training Centre - November 27, 2009

Start Date: Oct 27, 2009    End Date: Nov 27, 2009

INFORMATION
  Additional Information
Waterloo Fire Rescue will be hosting an important training opportunity for anyone interested in the subject of "air management" as it relates to the use of SCBA. This should be of interest to every firefighter since no one is in a better position than YOU to manage your air supply when you're operating at an emergency incident.

Toronto Fire and the University of Waterloo teamed up to conduct the most comprehensive study to date regarding Firefighter air consumption using various scientific methods and data gathering techniques. The testing was done using a wide cross section of Firefighters. The presentation will cover how they conducted the study, the data they gathered and what their analysis revealed. They will also go over some recommendations that were made regarding SOPs for personnel deployment in structure fires, amount of time/air remaining before FFs should begin their retreat, etc.

The material will be presented by Geoff Boisseau of Toronto Fire along with Michael Williams Bell of the University of Waterloo.

For additional information, please contact Larry Brassard, Deputy Chief - Operations at 519-884-2123. Please call to book seating as space is limited. THERE ARE NO SEMINAR FEES TO ATTEND THIS EVENT.
