FSMC 012 - Recruitment, Selection & Talent Management

This course will explore the overall process of attracting, selecting and appointing suitable candidates for jobs within an organization, whether permanent, part-time, volunteer or temporary.  Topics will include assessing the need for new employees, developing job descriptions and postings, candidate testing and onboarding. An emphasis will be placed on fostering an inclusive workplace. A focus on areas of Talent Management will consider topics such as succession planning, talent development, and workplace diversity in order to achieve organizational and operational needs. 
 
This course is part of the Humber College Fire Service Executive Management Certificate program. Participants will receive one(1) credit towards their certificate.
 
The cost for this course is $365 plus HST.  A minimum of 12 participants must be registered in order for the course to proceed
 

Instructor:

Krista Derksen has spent the majority of her career in the financial sector in Human Resources. Currently, Krista is the Director of Human Resources for the Canadian Bankers Association (CBA) and serves an additional client group named the Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments (OBSI). Prior to working for the CBA and OBSI, Krista worked for Market Regulation Services Inc., and the Toronto Stock Exchange. Krista is a member of the Financial Sector Program Advisory Committee member to Centennial College and, is the Chair of the North York Harvest’s Human Resources Committee.
