Woman Receives 3rd Degree Burns in Fire

A Port Elgin resident was badly burnt Sunday and airlifted to Hospital in London.

A Port Elgin resident remains in a London Hospital in stable condition following an accidental fire last Sunday.

Saugeen Shores Police say police arrived at a Goderich St. residence around 6am on June 25th (2017) to fins a woman had suffered 3rd degree burns to shoulder, neck and face.

The woman was taken to Saugeen Memorial Hospital in Southampton and then airlifted to hospital in London where she is currently awaiting skin grafting.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation and no further details have been released though authorities believe it was accidental in nature.

There were no other injuries reported.
