A Concession Street restaurant owner has pled guilty to three fire code-related infractions.

The owner of a Concession Street restaurant has pled guilty to three Ontario Fire Code-related infractions.
 
The registered owner of Rannush Grill at 578-580 Concession St., 1937949 Ontario Inc., appeared in provincial offences court June 22. The company was fined $10,000 after pleading guilty to a series of fines.
 
The company was convicted of the following:
  • Failure to check, inspect and test the commercial cooking equipment suppression system every six months
  • Failure to check, inspect and test emergency lighting equipment.
  • Failure to keep all written test records for two years at the building
"Building owners must take responsibility to ensure their buildings are in full compliance with the Ontario Fire Code and failure to do so will result in prosecution," said Robert Simpson, Hamilton Fire Department's chief fire prevention officer.
