The Township of Puslinch has appointed a veteran Cambridge firefighter as its new deputy fire chief, effective Nov. 1.

Brad Churchill, a captain and acting platoon chief with Cambridge Fire Department, has accepted the position. He has 26 years of fire service experience, starting his career in 1991. Churchill has served the Puslinch and Cambridge communities in both career and volunteer fire departments, paramedic services and as a college instructor.

“We look forward to working with Deputy Chief Churchill in his new role. His experience, formal education and training will be a real asset for the Township of Puslinch,” said Fire Chief Luis Gomes in a news release.

As the new deputy fire chief of operations, Churchill will focus on the township’s continuing efforts to provide the highest level of life safety and property protection to those who live, work and play in our community, said Gomes.

In addition to his new role, Churchill is an active member of Cambridge Fire Department.
