The mandate of the Endorsement Review Board is to recognize quality education and training programs offered for the fire service in the Province of Ontario, which meet the educational and training criteria, specified in the Ontario Standards Process Model.

To confirm if a specific program/course/workshop is endorsed look for a statement in the advertising that reads "The Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs and the Office of the Fire Marshal, through the Endorsement Review Board endorses the content of the program. The Board expressly does not endorse the delivery of the program, tools and/or equipment used in the delivery of the program."

The contents of the above specific offerings are endorsed for a two-year period from the date of the endorsement.
